Lenten Journey 2019 based upon Luke 6:20-42

Introduction

I am a software engineer in Des Moines. who also engages in ministry. I am sharing thoughts and sermons written for ministry.

To summarize my ministry journey, I grew up Catholic in my youth and converted to Protestant some years ago. I serve in outreach ministries like UBFM, lead worship for area retirement centers, and have worked as pastor and pastor supply for area churches. You may see influences from commentators of Working Preacher, Richard Rohr and of course the Bible. I have also studied Asian traditions like Taoism and Buddhism as a deeper dive into martial arts study.

I am an avid martial artist and bicyclist. Aside from seminary work at Chicago Theological Seminary and UCC Pathways, I have an MBA and PhD and currently member at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church in Central Iowa.

I appreciate the many ways people come to our Creator and that all people are Gods children. I pray these bits are rewarding for you.

Readings for many of the sermons/reflections can be found Revised Common Lectionary or Bible Gateway, and I generally choose the NRSVUE version.
